The weekly post where I recap some of the KidLit books I’ve been reading. Ocasionally, I’ll also talk about some adult fiction books as well.
Be sure to check out Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers to see what other Kidlit readers are reading. Because, you know, we can never have too many books in our TBR piles.
Picture Books

written by Megan Lacera
illustrated by Jorge Lacera
(Lee & Low, 2019)
I cannot express how much I love this book. The story is simultaneously cute, funny and spooky and the illustrations are wonderful. I actually had the opportunity to interview Megan and Jorge Lacera about this book for the Young Horror blog. We talked about writing horror for kids and why diversity in horror is so important. It was a lot of fun so be sure to check it out!
Zombies Don’t Eat Veggies! looks so cute. Can’t wait to get this title in my area. Thanks for sharing, Rebecca!
