Long-winded Version:
So, my name is Rebecca Herzog and I am a lover of stories. One day I hope to get paid for telling them. That would be pretty awesome.

I have had some great jobs, though. I’ve worked as a US Sailing Instructor where I got to be on the water all day long–you should have seen my amazing tan! I’ve also been a US Forestry Service Aide. Yeah, I basically got to hike in the mountains all day long. If you can’t tell, I enjoy being outdoors.

Let’s see. I collect joke books–I have 34 of them. I love Halloween and all things creepy. Except centipedes. I don’t like centipedes. My favorite animal really is the three-toed sloth. They’re just so cute. One day, I will visit the sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica where I will feed sloths in the morning and go surfing in the afternoon. I will also learn to surf some day.

I have an amazingly talented illustrator-husband (www.johnherzog.art) and two energetic little monsters. Big-Little Monster is nine and loves to read all sorts of dragon-vampire-rainbow-pooping-unicorn books. Little-Little Monster is two and loves to flip through board books while pretending to be Han Solo.

Right now we’re living in sunny Florida close to the beach and the waves with our beta fish (Farty-McFart Farts, although my daughter insists that’s not her name), a bearded dragon (why yes, I am a Mother of Dragons) named Bawg and a tarantula (Pennywise).
