Poetry Friday – Friendship

It’s Friday! And you know what that means: Poetry! Want to know more about Poetry Friday? Click this link right here. I am hosting today, so be sure to check out the end of this post to see this week’s round up of wonderful poetry related posts, blogs and goodness.

**Apologies to everyone who came earlier-I had set this post to publish at what I thought was 3AM, but in reality, I set it for 3PM! Of all the weeks! Thank you to those who reached out and let me know that it hadn’t posted yet so I could correct it!**

Hello and Happy Poetry Friday! I am so thrilled to host today! I am excited to read everyone’s poems, so be sure to leave a link at the end of the post.

Today is International Friendship Day and I am so grateful for all the friendships that I have made through Poetry Friday. Despite never really meeting anyone in person, I feel like I have come to know many of you through your poems and words.

Speaking of friends, I received a beautiful poetry swap from Jone Rush MacCulloch this week! It is always delightful to open the mailbox and find these small treasures. The flower picture I have sitting on my desk. I am not a morning person and so I rarely make it up to see “the sun bloom”.

And Jone’s found poem is wonderful too! It actually piqued my daughter’s interest and so we are going to try our hand on in before school starts. Thank you Jone!

waiting waters stir your heart
weeping and despairing
out of memory

  1. Thank you, Becky, for hosting. Sorry about that 12-hour auto-post problem! Those are lovely gifts from Jone.

  2. Helloooooo Rebecca, thanks so much for hosting this week. I love poetry swap! It’s so fun. I still have the card you made last summer. I love the stamp that you used. I’m chillin’ a bit this week. Summer ends for me on Monday with me going back into school…not full time quite yet but definitely on the slide into it. I’m eager to get back and see kids again, though. Gosh, I’ve missed them so much.

    1. I hope that your first week back goes well! My kiddos go back on the 10th, but faculty went back this past Monday.

  3. A bit late to the party due to international time zone differences but hopefully not too late! Thank you for hosting today. Your Pixelated Poems haiku captures the essence of Poetry Friday perfectly!

  4. Hi, Becky. It looks like my comment didn’t go through (if it did — apologies for the double post!)

Thanks for putting the focus on friendship this week as you host. I love seeing Jone’s art poems. They’re beautiful!
