Hello and happy Poetry Friday! Today is going to be a short post because I am in the process of moving my blog from Blogger over to WordPress. My laptop is on the fritz, and I have decided to try to work exclusively on my iPad. And Blogger does not play well with iPad.
I did want to share the final two Summer Poetry Swaps that I received. It has been so much fun sending and receiving these poetry packages. I am so glad that I participated! Thank you Tabatha, for organizing the swap.
Linda Mitchell sent me a beautiful handmade card that went perfectly with her poem, Firefly Tea. I have it hanging on my cork board by my desk because it makes me smile every time I read it. She did a perfect job of capturing summer with my little ones.

And Carol Varsalona used the Buncee platform to send me some spook-filled Floridian poetry. She even included info on one of my pets, a Lasiodora parahybana–the Brazilian Salmon Pink Bird-eating Taratula!
She also sent my daughter and I these handmade bracelets from the charity, Bigger Than Beads. Needless to say, they were a big hit!

I am so glad that you enjoyed the poem swap that I created for the family and the handmaid bracelets from the Mothers of Masese in Uganda. It is good to know that each time someone wears the jewelry, hope is being created for the refugee children in Uganda. Educating them and providing sustainable living for the families are noble causes that I wholeheartedly support. Thank you and your husband John for your great digital for The Art of Summering Gallery. It is one of a kind combining art and poetry into a fantastic image poem.
I love what Linda created to send to you. Her paper art work is so creative and designing a teacup card was a novel idea.
“Firefly Tea” is so imaginative! You and your daughter look sweet in your bracelets. I'll go see Carol's spooky poetry now.
I am so glad you liked the card and bookmarks. I sooooo enjoy spending time in a cool place, watching loads of TV and being up to my neck in paper-crafting during the summer. It's really a wonderful way for me to find my center and find calm after a hectic school year. You are your daughter are lucky to have such a poetry friend in Carol. She's a pro at friendmaking and keeping. I love that you get to experience it as I have. A true treasure.
The summer swap adds to all the summer fun. I love Linda's “Drink slowly/Repeat” and Carol's spooky buncee readaloud. Everyone shows time well spent in these gifts. Thanks again for mine, Rebecca! Happy Weekend!
