We really enjoyed reading this one.. I always love a good pun so this spooky take on a monster truck rally was a lot of fun.

I love finding books that push a little into the realm of a little spooky for kids. This book is all about the monster on the way to the kid’s house to eat him…or is he? I read this to my two and a half year old and we both loved it. The cuteness of the illustrations as well as how you read the book balance out the spook factor. But it makes for a really fun read.

I think that this is a great book for a wide range of ages. My toddler seemed to enjoy listening and looking at the illustrations. The questions posed by the main characters in the book were good jumping off points for my nine year old daughter and I to think about ourselves. And the ending of the book definitely made me smile.

I loved Stonewall, a good n-f book to show some early LGBTQ history and how wonderful that you attended the book launch. Happy to see those for young readers, too, like Bedtime for Monsters & Out There. It’s great to see so many space books out this year! Thanks, Rebecca!

I’ve added Stonewall: A Building. An Uprising. A Revolution to my list. I really enjoyed listening to a program on Stonewall on the radio last week while my partner and I were travelling.
I love Ed Vere so will be getting a copy of Bedtime for Monsters!
